Squeaky Door Gets The Oil

There was an auDA Board Meeting scheduled today, and things have happened!

Just received notification that the 2015 Names Panel Report has finally been published on the auDA website.

And the Minutes from December 14th 2015; and February 15th 2016.

Hooray and up she rises! I guess my previous articles had some effect.

Come On auDA – Please Be Accountable

Names Panel Report

Though having read the February Minutes, I’m not sure why the December Minutes were so delayed? Check Item 2:

2.    Confirmation of December 2015 Minutes

Motion (proposed E Karabardak, seconded G McDonald).  That the Board approve and publish the minutes of the 14 December 2015 Board meeting.  Carried

Very strange that I got this response (mentioned in my previous article):

Sorry, the Board has not authorised staff to release the Panel’s report or to provide any information about outcomes.

The Names Panel Report

I’m not going to say a thing at this stage. Have a read for yourself, and see what you think.

Thanks to Derek Whitehead (Panel Chair), you’ll see the Minority Report at the end. He resisted a lot of pressure (from some) not to attach it. That would have caused a lot of friction had that happened.

More soon …

    3.    2015 Names Policy Panel

“It was also noted a late issue had arisen where a Panel member had released the confidential final report to their organisation, who in turn issued a press release. It was noted that it should be made very clear on future panels that members are appointed in an individual capacity and not as agents of their employer organisation.”

Andrew, one of the panelists representing ACCAN spilt the beans – and was chastised accordingly.

This was actually raised on DNTrade.

convienient to wait this long for publishing, Dec in April !!! i’m getting sick of auda just doing whatever they like and nobody is accountable and nobody is above them to monitor them , this “self-regulatory body” is a green light to ignore anyone and anything.

take the squeaky door off the hinges and jump boat !

I don’t think hardly any businesses out there know what has just happened. Any business enjoying lots of leads from their current website may want to get up to speed with this, pronto.

    Battle stations! Defend yourselves!
