Some years ago, auDA audited .org.au domain names to make sure these were being used for a proper purpose i.e. as per auDA policy the org.au 2LD is for non-commercial organisations.
It appears that with no follow up audits, the growth in org.au domains has outstripped all other extensions.

On the expired auctions yesterday, the domain name RFM.com.au was purchased on the Netfleet platform for $17,050 (including GST and costs).
