Just Shows What You Can Do!

I’ve been a big fan of the website EasyWeddings.com.au.

They have taken a great generic term (“Weddings”); stuck an adjective in front of it (“Easy”), and then they have developed it like crazy.

It just goes to show what you can do when you are determined to succeed. I take my hat off to Matt Butterworth (Managing Director) and the team at Easy Weddings.

They are simply a one stop shop when it comes to do with anything about weddings.

Monetisation

As domainers, we sometimes wonder how to maximise income from our “cyber properties”.

The Easy Weddings website is a masterclass in how to do it. Have a look for yourselves. They seem to have all bases covered – and their social media strategy is excellent.

Check out this 60 second video they just produced.

I find this really inspiring – and it makes me want to develop some sites! Hope you do too. 🙂

I agree Ned – it’s a fantastic site and brilliant development effort.

Only one apparent flaw (which they could/should correct quickly). They have obviously bought fake Facebook likes (103,000!+) although it is not clear why when everything else is so on-point.  Just one incongruous action left standing can really hurt credibility and customer/supplier confidence.

    Hi Richard.

Matt here from Easy Weddings. Felt the need to correct you mate. We do not and have not in the past ever bought fans. Considering that we receive 10,000 – 15,000 visitors to our site per day, and over 6 years of running our EW facebook page it is not hard to get to 100K+ legitimate fans.

    Cheers Matt

Great site Matt.  I can see how Richard jumped to that conclusion though.  The interaction on each post seems unfathomably low for 100k+ fans.  Any ideas why that would be?

Definitely don’t want to get in a dumb argument with you about the authenticity of your Facebook engagement.  My intention was to complement you on developing such a great site, but the comment was obviously very clumsy so please accept my apology.  Best wishes with your excellent business.

Yes, we did get off topic with one of our social media platforms, but thanks for the compliments re the website. Regarding Facebook, its a constant work in progress due to FB’s changing algorithms. Some posts do really well, many get no traction. We’ll keep working at it, as its an important part of the marketing mix when attracting a 27 year old female to the site.
