More Changes To auDA’s PRP

Fresh on the heels of a couple of recent resignations from the Policy Review Panel, looks like yet another foundation panelist has left the fold.

Professor Andrew Christie is no longer the Academic Representative; and former short-term Board Member Ian Halson has replaced Luke Summers.

No matter how they try to spin this, it looks like scrambling to me (as it does to many others).

With all these changes, I think auDA needs to start the process again (and add more representation).

After all, what’s up for discussion involves potentially the biggest changes in the .au landscape.

    More musical chairs.

I don’t think Ian’s views are in line with  the vast majority of demand members, not a good choice in my view for the demand position.

The resignation of Prof Christie sounds like the panel is in crisis mode.

Not important enough news for the 150 Day Report. Probably holding it over to the 300 Day Report.

Does this mean they are giving up on the “government regulator” position? (Formerly held by ACCC representative).

This has been deleted entirely rather than showing as vacant?

Now that Luke and Ned can’t be in the PRP, I think Ian is a great choice.

That being said, Brett Fenton should not be a part of it, as many discussions have outlined. It has no chance of working while Brett Fenton is still involved.

I know many of us have written to John Swinson about Brett Fenton’s candour. I’m still waiting for my reply from John…

I don’t even think John Swinson should be part of it.

He’s not been acting impartially in my opinion.
