It's all about domain names
The clock is definitely ticking louder for me, so the time has come to seriously trim my portfolio.
I am putting up a private website that is going to list at least 10 domains daily. This should be ready in the next two weeks.
As anyone who has dealt with me in the past can testify, my pricing has always been very generous. And it is going to be even more so now. I’m a domainer by nature, and my modus operandi has always been to turn over and trade my stock.

The City of Parramatta Council (“The Council”) was last week officially found “guilty” of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking with regards the domain name Parramatta.com.au. For those that may not know what that means, in simple terms, they filed a dispute / complaint against the long standing registrant of this valuable premium domain name in order to try and have it transferred to them for free! And they lost spectacularly.

One of the biggest changes regarding Australian domain names is due to come into force next Monday – 12th April 2020. There are to be new licensing rules that will affect the registration and renewal of Aussie domains.
My experience over 20 years tells me that there are going to be many registrants that wouldn’t have a clue this is happening. Hence the title of this article. I wonder whether the auDA Board and Management have considered a short amnesty period for registrants to get their “house in order”? It would be a wonderful gesture.

Whilst I have lots of domain names, the amount I have actually developed over the years is fairly minimal. Like many other domain investors, I tend to “park” my domains with a professional parking provider. Doing this gives me a lot of flexibility whilst I consider future options. In the interim, I get a small amount of monthly income, plus can indicate that the domain may be for sale.

3 Letter domains continue to be acquired by endusers in Australia, and the average price paid for these unique acronym identifiers goes up and up.
Many of these sales go unreported, but Domainer has been informed that the domain FFI.com.au was recently sold by a domain investor for $30,000.

There is no question in my mind that the Covid-19 pandemic has inspired aftermarket domain name sales here in Australia – as it has done around the world.
