Another year and another price increase to fall in line with CPI announced by auDA for .au domain registrations, renewals and Change of Registrants fees, and notification has gone out of this years increase.
From: 1 October 2026
From: AUD$8.64 ex GST or AUD$9.504 inc GST

This is a $0.86 ex GST increase or $0.946 inc GST increase to register and renew any .au domain name. Above.com offers cost price domain registrations and renewals, best place if you have multiple domains to renew. Transfer of .au domains are free, so you only pay when you need to renew your .au domains.
Prior increases was:
From: 1 October 2025 – $0.19 ex GST increase or $0.209 inc GST
From: AUD$8.45 ex GST or AUD$9.295 inc GST

Finally the new price is GST friendly, we have been complaining about that for years now, so great to finally have a price that is not 3 decimal.

Once again the rules have not changed to allow domains to be renewed at anytime and can only be done so when less then 90 days away from expiry. So get your domains ready that you are likely to renew up to the 28th Dec 2025 and save before the price increase.
Some handy tips:
1. Check your domains early to work out which one you plan to renew, the last day to renew before price increase is 30 Sep 2026 – domains that expire up to the 28th of Dec 2026 can be renewed early. if you are using Above for your auDA compliant domain monetisation, you can use domain level data such as revenues, traffic stats, historical offers to help you in your renewal decisions.
2. Work out which ones should be renewed for multi year to save on this and future price increases.
3. Transfer your domains to Above.com, free to transfer and renew your domains in bulk for cost price. Cheaper than anywhere else to renew domains. Once renewed you can move them back to any other registrar, also free to transfer out.
4. Using the most popular Australian based domain marketplace where more .au domains are sold than any other marketplace will help you sell domains before the price increase.
