You can’t be serious auDA!

This is what I call a token gesture from auDA. An invite on a Saturday night to some selected “domain investors” to attend a zoom meeting with the CEO Rosemary Sinclair on Monday (today).

Quite frankly, I also think it is rude and disrespectful. It is the week leading up to Christmas, and many of us are away or otherwise engaged.

This seems to be daylight robbery auDA!

Over many years, Domainer has been at the forefront of highlighting “Unauthorised Business Use” (UBU) in relation to registering domain names.

This is when some “burglar” steals another entity’s business details – e.g. ABN – and uses this to register or purchase Aussie domain names.

Today we report another perpertrator who is using a Victorian goverment ABN!

One of the highest value Australian domain sales

I’ve been waiting 5 years to tell this story in full. It was all a bit hush / hush at the time.

In October 2016 I was engaged by a client to sell the domain name Insurance.com.au. The domain registrant was a company comprising 5 separate shareholders – one of whom was my client.
