We wrote about how the auDA Board voting on a policy change that would adversely affect 80% of all the .com.au and .net.au currently registered:

Now is the time for Australians to stand together and tell the auDA Board not to implement this change in any format and keep the status quo.
Lets start with who are the auDA Board Members who need to be provided the data that shows that this was not the intended outcome that they were seeking.

We were able to find that 8 out of the 10 Board members their own domains that they own will be caught up in this policy change and will require a New Business Name registration from ASIC that exactly matches their domain and a correction or a Change of Registrant done at their Registrar.
There is no way that the board expected this change to affect 2.7 MILLION domains and even thinking to Grandfather this policy change to only apply for new domain registration is creating unnecessary confusion that none of the auDA Accredited Registrars actually want.
A handful of people are about to cause soo much damage to the name space that will force users to other domain extensions as the current .au Registrars will not want to support .com.au domains anymore as just too hard. It is already the most regulated name space already without this change.
We do not need more Red Tape and extra cost to own a .com.au domain.
